Gaz6002
I saw 2012 the other day. IMHO, the CGI in that is going to take some beating.

michael
3D or 2D? I presume 3D?
Wez
I saw 2012 the other day. IMHO, the CGI in that is going to take some beating. That was the only thing going for it though eh, I found it very average apart from the special affects.
Gaz6002
That was the only thing going for it though eh, I found it very average apart from the special affects. Oh god yes, far too much 'acting' involved and soppy bits galore. I let them off when the aircraft carrier hit the White House though. liam1
3D or 2D? I presume 3D? 3d, dont want to give anything away to those people who are going to see it, but def one of the best films i've seen.
michael
Oh god yes, far too much 'acting' involved and soppy bits galore. I let them off when the aircraft carrier hit the White House though. Very much an effects showcase, even the peril was designed to ensure the CGI could be seen at the best angle, even if it made the "story" ridiculous. I watched Law Abiding Citizen last night, that was a nice little film. I might try and see Avatar next week, I just want to see the effects really, I don't even know what it's about. mwilkinson
It took James Cameron 4 1/2 years to make this film. They had to develop all their own equipment and special effects to make it the way he wanted. Apparently it pushes the envelop of current cinema and is designed to set a new standard in 3D movies. I can't wait to see it. Going to see it at the iMAX on Sunday. It also apparently cost around the £500 million mark, but no one will confirm this. Wez
I watched Law Abiding Citizen last night, that was a nice little film. CardiffSupra
That was the only thing going for it though eh, I found it very average apart from the special affects. Yep, I thought it was a pretty rubbish film. Going to see Avatar tonight.

Jake
I watched Law Abiding Citizen last night, that was a nice little film. You liked that? I thought it was ridiculous. Started off promisingly but went downhill badly once all the high tech stuff came into it. SPOILER FOLLOWS >>---> How did he manage to break into a solitary confinement cell and fit it out with a concealed door without anyone noticing? Bobbeh
I thought it was visually amazing... the story has been done before etc but it was a technical masterpiece. The world they detailed was breathtaking, pure eye candy. I saw it at the Odeon in Leicester square, wanted to go to an IMAX cinema but the one in London was pretty much sold out for weeks - at least on the weekend showings. imi
is this a movie that must be seen in 3D?
Bobbeh
I think so, it'll look good regardless, but it was shot from the outset to be seen in 3D.
Thorin
Watched it on Saturday night (in 3D), I enjoyed it, amazing to think that pretty much the entire thing was CGI.
Mike
I really fancy seeing it, but a small bit of me is cringing in anticipation that this might have a Titanic style sub-plot that will irritate me and ruin it.
