Wez
Hey All, Are there any kits available or a part list of what's needed to remove the stock oil cooler, when I strip the inlet side down I will be junking the cooler as I already have a front mount oil cooler. Does the NA possibly use an adapter with the oil cooler part on it? Thanks

It helps the oil get up to temperature quicker. If you want to do it though there is an adapter you can by from ford which allows the filter to bolt straight on to the block. The info is on the supraforums some where.
hodge
Ill be doing this with my new engine. i was going to use the N/A's oil filter pick up as it doesnt have a stock oil cooler and an external oil cooler sandwich plate with a thermostat in. I think paul whifin sells them.

hodge
I think the idea of the thermostat keeps the sandwich plate from opening until its up to temp so the oil heat to a good temp before it needs cooling.

Spot on! My HKS kit starts to feed oil to the cooler at 70 +/- 3 degrees and is fully open at 80 +/-3 degrees.
