Suprash Posted December 18, 2009 Share Posted December 18, 2009 I went to a MR2 last weeekend and phoned the dealer Monday to offer him a price, we agreed on a price and I said to him I would be down this weekend to pick it up. whilst on the phone I said to him what about a desposit, obviously with them being in Southampton and me being in Basingstoke and the fact I would be down at the weekend to pick the car up he said not to worry about it. Anyway I just phoned them now to sort out collection and they have just told me they have sold it to someone else. Im furious as this was the Mrs Christmas present, and he shouldnt have even been showing the car to anyone else as it was sold to me. And then you need to define what damages have you suffered? You haven't really because you never had the car to start with so technically you didn't lose anything. Put it down to experience. I wouldnt go to court for damages, more the fact the car was sold to me, we had agreed, I would willing pay the £90 small court fee's and any associated losses just to make their life that little less easier..... They shouldnt be allowed to get away with it..... To be honest, Im not even sure the car has actually gone, dont know why I think this, but something says to me the car is still sat there outside......does anyone live in Southampton that could maybe drive past and have a look for me, if it is, then that car is bloody mine Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If no one lives local that could drive past and see if the car is there or not then I shall be driving after work quickly to have a look, god forbid should a brick get flicked out from under my car towards their direction lol (j/k guys before everyone starts saying, you have just admitted online, blah, blah)...... Humm,.... I know people that have done that with Supras. My mate did it with a car he couldn't quite afford and the dealer was a bit of a cock. In the end he got the car for a lot less than his original offer. Mind you he took a lot of stuff off the car, even the rear window. This wasn't on a Supra BTW. adnanshah247 Posted December 18, 2009 Share Posted December 18, 2009 sadly nothing you can do bud. there are tonnes of great MR2's out there though so dont be put off. you never know, you could have gone to buy the car and noticed its a complete bag bolts. take it as a blessing is disguise, it could have been a damaged repair car not declared, you could have been putting someone in a death trap. see the negatives of it and trust me you will feel better! For a 19 year old car, I couldnt find a thing wrong with it....... I phoned him back and recorded the phone conversation, I'll upload it later tonight for shits and giggles, it degenerates with him starting to f and blind, nice customer service, and inviting me to go down and see him face to face lol.......
