Sgtbash
Long story short, the cheapest was £23,360.07. Im sorry, but how can they justify a price like that when the car itself is only £4999? Im young (18) and passed my test and I can afford the car. But that is phenomanal. What am I supposed to do? I cant afford that no way in hell, but I want my supra Edited December 17, 2009 by Sgtbash (see edit history)

The Raven
Hmm, Twin turbo? Most people pay 2k on a micra or clio as a first car these days

I suppose I could delcare it SORN, but I dont want my Supra to just be sat there. I think im just going to have to wait. I might buy one, then just keep it as you said but it will be hard looking at it nearly every day

Dave17
Sounds about right given you WILL almost certainly crash it and write it and possibly other people off.

Abz
I think you need to realise that the Supra is a Group 20 insurance car, same insurance group as a Ferrari and other exotic sports cars. You also need to remember you are not just being insured for the Supra (£5k) also damage which you will cause when you have an accident. When you say you can afford it, do you have a job or are you doing studies? Parts etc are not cheap on the Supra.

michael
And its Leeds - Pudsey to be exact. So right next to Bradford... joined to it almost... I guess you're a high risk as far as the insurers are concerned. Maybe time to have a rethink and build up some no claims on something more sensible. shima60
i doubt you will be getting insured at your age dude. i mean i'm 22 and it was costing me £1400 to insure a bloomin mk3 supra turbo. luckily now on my soarer vvti turbo and its only £950 when i was your age i was driving a 2.2 prelude and that was still costing 1500 to insure. long story short i crashed that car.. grew up and bought a supra then a soarer lol. i say keep the car buy a mx-5 or similar get used to RWD mod the supra then insure it when your
Sgtbash
Wow. How did you earn a degree by the age of 18? Fast tracked through school and started college 1 year early. Ive worked hard for this and I really want a supra, I went in one the other night as a passenger. The thing flew like hell. I was in love. Ive had my heart set on some sort of Supra for a while, I think it was when I watched 2 Fast 2 Furious with the orange Supra that I started to want one. Sucks being young sometimes. So young people carn't go killing them selfs in a high powered RWD car..... If I had a supra at the age of 18 I dont think I would be talking to you now. Stick with the corsa for now mate.. wilson4347
Why not go for a celica or an mr2 to start with and when you have a couple of years under your belt, then get the supra?

I want a car(Supra) that will make all these silly chavs cry at its awesomeness, a car(Supra) that moves(In more way than one) me and gets me motivated. Chewie
Let me get this right. You bought a £5K Supe before you enquired about the insurance premium? And you earn £26K? And you got a fast track degree in IT? And all by the time you're 18? mmmmhhhh:confused:[sHOCK][/sHOCK]

Reading between the lines you want to race around in a powerful car, like a complete tool with absolutely no experience in order to make yourself feel superior to the lower life forms (Chavs).
