Battery too big for clamp ?

Hi folks,

Managed to get a new battery fitted and sorted and happy to say it looks good.

One small problem however is the clamp now being slightly too small for the battery.

Dimensions are the same as the previous one in terms of length and width however the height is about an inch or two taller than the old battery meaning the clamp will not go flush over the top and even the bolt on bit would be a few centimetres short as well as being off line with the thread even if i bent it which i wasn't plannin on doing anyway.

Any ideas or people had similar experience ?

Car is a j-spec facelift incase that makes any difference ?

Is there any difference between import clamps and UK clamps ? Reason i ask is that the car seems (minor miracle ?) to still have been running it's stock battery from Japan by the stickers on it and the fact the terminal bolts looked intact and never previously removed.

Had a look at the picture in the 2nd last post on here and that clamp looks bigger than mine....

Thanks guys. Had a look this morning when it was lighter and like you said AndyT mine i also much flatter and doesn't have the sharp incline like the one i posted and also the one Dnk has shown, it also doesn't have the two right-angled grips for either side of the battery, just the clamp itself with the big bolt in one end and the hooked rod at the other.

Have dropped Keron a PM so fingers crossed. Thanks again.
