jackso11
I have seen a few people have a go at digital dash conversions, but is there one out there that doesn't look like an old school digital watch in green and grey? (like an astra GTE) I know pig has one and I have seen the dash2 one. If you have a digital dash conversion, post pics here Edited December 16, 2009 by jackso11 (see edit history)

Chris Wilson
The Motec dash looks quite nice, but current ones are costly. Older ones can be found for a fairly modest price. I did post on a race car forum asking people to vote if they REALLY liked digital dash's in race cars, or preferred two dual analogue gauges and a rev counter. I personally dislike them, they are hard to read at a glance, involve distracting scrolling and fiddling, and even the best are hard to read in sunlight. It appeared a lot of people with these things forced upon them by race car makers agreed with me. If you can find an old Astra Tech dash, they were brilliant. Bear in mind buying the dash is the easy part, matching them up with sensors and a loom that isn't Heath Robinson adds considerably to the bill and time involved. Stack are excellent with good support, medium price range: http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/28108/Stack_8100_display_and_logger.html http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/27750/Stack_data_logging_dash_display_parts__sensors_all_new_and_unused.html Cheapest you will get is something like this Astra Tech, but you need sensors and stuff: http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/26262/Astratech_dashlogger.html Motec, my red Zeus has this one, without the steering wheel module, but with a lot more sensors like 4 cylinder EGT, and full track mapping. I didn't pay for it, the guy who had the car built spent £9K on it seven years ago.... : http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/26628/Motec_ADL2_Steering_Wheel_Display_and_Wiring_Harness.html
jackso11
Am I right in thinking the VVTi is OBDII ? If it is, that would be perfect as my car PC can interface with OBDII and display all sorts of information.....unfortunatly I don't have a VVTi and I am guessing the work in changing a TT to a VVTi TT is quite costly. j_jza80
Maybe not to your taste (as they do look like digital watch displays) but I really like some of the dakota digital stuff http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=results/category_id=59/home_id=59/mode=cat/cat59.htm

jackso11
that does look good, but I want something with a bit of colour. Idealy something that comes through a monitor although a pc would take 20seconds to boot so it may not be legal I guess.

Chris Wilson
The Lola has a fairly old PI dash in it, they go quite cheap now, it's quite basic (which is why I am keeping it), but you should find one for around 500 quid with a loom and some sensors. It's going to be a lot of work, is it worth it??? http://www.motorsportads.com/recently-sold/18471.html

wallis
I have got this 6 in 1 lcd digital display going in my project, the only thing it does not have is unfortunatly your MPH, to make it a complete digital dash display, and well.......boost,AFR and EGT Apart from that for £120 its well good value for money and thats with everything u need to fit it as well including all sensors and senders.....bargain! j_jza80
I have this Sard racing stack dash i love it Nice I also like the Defi Supersport cluster as it looks a little more functional, but the brand whore in me would go for the Stack dash. It looks very clinical, like a precision instrument.

Do they do a higher range with MPH etc on it?

Do they do a higher range with MPH etc on it? its only ment to be be a 6 in 1 gauge mate, not a digital dash, its defo a space saver thought, and its the only model they do, like i said though a bargain, its also really compact compaired to 6 normal sized gauges scattered all over the car! A boost gauge should be a priority on a unit like this though, but still good for the money, unless you plan on fitting a boost gauge too, as that may look a little silly

At least this way i can actually see all the read outs on all my gauges, unlike some other set ups which are in glove box lids etc.
