Chris Wilson
The first emu egg has just hatched and I managed to get a few pics of it at a few minutes old. Another egg is pipping, it should hatch within the next 12 hours. Dad wasn't going to let me into his fenced off sitting pen, so I had to take them through the wire. he has sat for 56 days, so he's not gonna give up on them now A buzzard took the wife of one of the doves living with the emus yesterday, but he's already found a replacement! The wallabies are putting on weight for the breeding season too. If anyone wants fertile golden pheasant eggs we have loads.... Pics Here

Chris Wilson
The egg that's already hatched is 4 days premature, 60 days is the normal incubation period for emus. probably early as it's so mild here. It's a bobbies life being a male emu, you spend sixty days of the year just sat down contemplating the world
