Chris Wilson
The first emu egg has just hatched and I managed to get a few pics of it at a few minutes old. Another egg is pipping, it should hatch within the next 12 hours. Dad wasn't going to let me into his fenced off sitting pen, so I had to take them through the wire. he has sat for 56 days, so he's not gonna give up on them now A buzzard took the wife of one of the doves living with the emus yesterday, but he's already found a replacement! The wallabies are putting on weight for the breeding season too. If anyone wants fertile golden pheasant eggs we have loads.... Chris Wilson
The egg that's already hatched is 4 days premature, 60 days is the normal incubation period for emus. probably early as it's so mild here. It's a bobbies life being a male emu, you spend sixty days of the year just sat down contemplating the world
