caseys
Being a person running the same tubby as you I'd say as others have to look at the Whifbitz twin box system. Fitted one the other week and seems to have a very nice note to it and I don't wince at having to start the car up at 6am when i go to the gym. As for the noise it makes when I'm at WOT well, I can't really tell with the screamer pipe going too

caseys
How does the the RX compare to the Whifbitz system in terms of noise? RX = 91-93db Whifbitz = 93db when it was measured? Paul's thread about them has noise ratings of it in there somewhere.
Gaz6002
How does the the RX compare to the Whifbitz system in terms of noise? It's louder, but I found the Blitz too quiet really. The Whifbitz one sounds more aggressive, but not in an obnoxious way. Not too 'in your face'... more 'I know I'm fast, why shout about it?'... if you get my drift. Matt H
It's louder, but I found the Blitz too quiet really. Do you know what the Db readings were / or an estimation? Ta
Gaz6002
Do you know what the Db readings were / or an estimation? Ta I remember testing my RX at 99db at 2/3 throttle from 1m away on a single with no cats. I haven't measured the Whifbitz one yet, but I believe Paul has some results in one of his threads. Chiefgroover
Tanabe touring. I will re dyno @ 700+BHP shortly, so it quiet and does not cause a large restriction. However, when well heated its a bit louder on tickover, but still quiet compared to most. Nicely made too.
michel lane
I got one of whiflbiz new twin system, i can fit it aswell..... and its quiet.....
Paul Whiffin
[goes off to search] On Steve L's car its 99db, Ryan G measured his one at 98db, both are on 3" downpipe/midpipes with single turbos. Would be quieter still on 2.5" decats and the stock turbos. You would noticed a big difference to what you have now basically. In stock if needed. Ryan.G
Whifbitz twin box or Tanabe. I went for the Whiftbitz due to availibility, warranty, Uk supplier and price

Matt H
Thanks for all advice chaps, very informative. I've opted for the Whiftbitz Twin Box and buying Michel's. Hopefully get that on after crimbo. I think I'll do a before an after test in anyone is interested for comparison reasons. Thanks again. I have a Tanabe touring for sale if your interest matt. Not owned it long and have seriously loved it. Will be perfect for what your looking for. Jon Certainly would have the Whifbitz hadn't come up. How is the car Jon, I think the last time I saw it was at the turbfit BBQ!
David P
Matt, Alternatively, you could just weld in a Morroso spiral muffler. There is room to get 3 into the system, you wouldn't know it was even running then. There is a snap in 'my car', just click on the link in my signature. Nic
Thanks Nic, an invaulable source of knowledge as ever. I'd ask for some prices but you're not trading at the moment are you? Will you be back in the game soon Hi Matt I'm still off work due to ill health, I'm hoping to be open again for business early in the New Year (subject to members vote). Another exhaust worth considering would be the GReddy Ti-R, this is a full titanium cat back system, it is available with either ∅80mm or ∅90mm piping. They are rated at 91Db and weigh only 8kg. This is a video of the 80mm version I had fitted on my own car (excuse the rattly PAS pump in the background). Note this is with the GT35R turbo and 4" down pipe and mid pipe. hU5M-MZcSbI cheers Edited December 15, 2009 by Nic (see edit history)

Its good thanks mate, got it to 604bhp and running perfectly so took all the bits off and sold them. Started saving for more power now.
