yes you can mod the car,i had a 84 xr4i,a had a turbo set up fited and my insurance went up 16 notes!! but then i'm an old fart so maybe that has something to do with it?

Not through personal experience but I read on here that classic policy's are for cars unmodified and over 15 years.

What company are you with? Might give them a go next year.

I've used Norton for years with varios Porsches and now the Sup.

I always deal with a guy called Martin Hamer.

Scott, of you are over 30, the car is garaged and used as a 2nd car, give him a ring .

Can PM you the number tomorrow if required

I'm 29 at the moment but when my insurance is due next year I'll be 30. PM me it over and i'll give him a phone nearer the time. It is garaged and a 2nd car though.

Until you start hitting the 30 insurance is a bit a grey area. Your quote seems a bit pricey to me, considering the fact that I was insuring group 16-18 cars for that when I was around your age many years ago.

However, I am certain, on that type of car with the 5 yrs NCB, you should be able to bring that quotation down - you just have to do it the old fashioned way .... get the yellow pages and start phoning the insurers listed in it and any others you may find on the likes of gocompare.com
