SIMON LC
I did'nt think it was possible to have this much fun on 2 wheels this time of the year but I did. This is the result after track day at Mallory park on Sat.What made it more fun was me and my mates took our road bikes and managed to shame some top boys there with full-on track bikes with wet tyres and tyre warmers.lol. Chewie
Nice bit of chewing gum. Good work. Another 3 mm and you'd removed that arrow. I hope the left chicken strip was sorted too. What tyres are you running? I take it you were riding a Repsol replica Firebladder.

Chewie
I thought I recognised the tread pattern. I'm running 2CTs on my Speed Triple.
pistonbroke
Hmm, I've never done that to my bike tyre. (R6). What am I doing wrong? I can lean the bike over pretty far, and have reached the point where it's tried to flick me off where the back has slipped out.

Cold tyres chew up like that when you have it cranked over on track days, mine do it all the time, i run BT56 on my blade, saying that hot weather will do the same, although because it was last weekend the cold option is the better bet. Still a little more to get it over yet though:p:d You'll be addicted now, i love them, lot safer than riding on the road, plus run off areas rather than signs and vehicles. When is your next one? SIMON LC
Yeh you only manage to get enough heat in your tyres really on a track day because you are constantly giving them a pounding, where as on the road there aint enough consistant bends.I have got them a bit sticky over the mountain section of the TT course in the Isle of Man but there are some serious speeds reached over there. My mate looked down at his speedo once going up the mountain mile on his blade and saw 187mph at one point. And before all you legal eagles start ranting, there is no speed limit over there. Track days are coming cheap this time of the year, saturday only cost me £35 and we just dropped lucky with the weather, its the gamble you take although the morning was wet and plenty coming off and red flagging the runs. Best £35 I spent for a while and cheaper than a night on the piss this time of year.
Chewie
Only problem with track days is the yawning gap between the good, bad and down right dangerous. My mate got tee boned going into a corner by the guy following who was too target fixated to do anything except ram him. Bike written off, leathers and helmet wrecked and me having to drive across to Donnington to pick him up.
SIMON LC
Yeh you gotta watch the idiots.Just make sure you place yourself in the right group and you should'nt see too much traffic coming past.We was only a few that turned up with road bikes and normal road tyres. Most had proper track bikes and tyre warmers so we was quite proud of ourselves.
