Rinus
Like to know if anyone has an idea witch cams on this setup would be best; -Turbonetics cast-manifold -GT4082jb -Sard drop-in 650cc -Aem standalone ecu -walbro 255 -oem flywheel-with rps-steet kit *going for 550hp on the flywheel (but never more then 600hp) thinking of the 264-264cams or isn't this the best choice with the cast-mani... And a good place to get cams, like the hks ones but the price a little bit less:innocent: Any other good brands? Thank you
johnny g
264 works for me, maybe 256's but more likely 264's
b_have
264s here as well
Rinus
You're also running a cast manifold? And just saw you sold a brand new aem and got a solaris, also thinking of going to mister Ryan G. for mapping next year.. ... but will ask the tuner witch ecu will be best for him to map... JamieP
For 550bhp id leave stock cams in it, 600-700bhp id go with 256's
Rinus
@ jamie, stock j-spec cams will do the job or do you mean uk?
T2 MSW
Im running stock Jspec cams. T67 DBB ran 534 bhp last weekend at SRR. If i want any more power at a later date then ill be putting cams in it but Im happy with the power output at the miunte Looking at your spec though if you have not already bought the clutch/flywheel Id have a look arround at other options, I hate my RPS its crap. Although I am running the 6 puck
JamieP
@ jamie, stock j-spec cams will do the job or do you mean uk? J-spec cams are fine for 550bhp, you will still have great spool with stock cams, i ran mine at 630bhp with stock cams.

InSvain
what about Brian Crower cams because they are a bit cheaper then HKS
JamieP
Was that at 1.8 or 2 bar boost Jamie? 630 was 1.8bar on the old cast T67 Ive no experience of BC cams, id stick with HKS or Jun.
T2 MSW
630 was 1.8bar So I dont really need Cams then, can just up the boost
Rinus
Ok, then I will sure try it out with the stock ones first... really thought I needed new cams when going single on a jspec, thanks!! Will need the money for the injectors and ecu, so this is good news!
JamieP
So I dont really need Cams then, can just up the boost Going for 600+ i would go with cams, you can feel is strangle the top end a little on stock cams, when i changed to billet and 256 cams i got an extra 100bhp at the same boost. Hope your happy with it. Mine is just grabby and it really annoys me. Its quite stiff too and nothing compaired to the southbend that I tried in Rob Wilds car. All of the above is on the road though. On the track its excellent and you can give it all the abuse you like and it just takes it
Rinus
Jamie, is 650cc a good choice then? If I buy 800cc, it's the same money... (you'll never now for the future)

Street disc is great, my rps has took a shed load of abuse and is still perfect, quiet and light to use, great clutch. Jamie, is 650cc a good choice then? If I buy 800cc, it's the same money... (you'll never now for the future) If on emanage id stay 650's, Aem or solaris etc id go with 800's Edited December 13, 2009 by JamieP (see edit history)
T2 MSW
Jamie, is 650cc a good choice then? If I buy 800cc, it's the same money... (you'll never now for the future) Future proof it with slightly larger injectors. Saying that Injectors depend on the manufacturer. What make were you thinking of going with? for example i think the seimens are know to stick. Street disc is great, my rps has took a shed load of abuse and is still perfect, quiet and light to use, great clutch. I should have gone with the street and stock flywheel. I just did not need the lightweight fly and 6 puck. The price was the selling point though
Rinus
I've seen Sard drop-in injectors 650 /800cc at whifbitz shop... and like to stay with stock fuel system and 1 walbro for now. ..So on piggybag better the 650's...

T2 MSW
Im running the same walbro, 850 PE's and stock fuel all be it with the fuel pulsation damper removed (I notice Jamie has one for sale ) ECU wise im on the AEM.
Rinus
Ok will first choose ecu, then injector... I saw the sard drop inns don't need a resistor pack... believe the uk's do need one. Do I also need to remove the fuel pulsation demper??

Do I also need to remove the fuel pulsation demper?? The first thing you need to do is choose your mapper, Thats the most important thing Then speak to them about the spec your thinking of and see what they recommend. If your looking for 500-550 bhp then you dont need to remove the damper, Any more than that and it becomes a restriction.
Nic
I'd personally go with either in264/ex264 or in256/ex264 setup.
