Guest jap nut
Having problems with no second turbo so put in in TTC to see if its one of the vsv valves and now it makes no boost at all?Can anyone suggest what to try next or is my second turbo fucked?there are no strange noises and the car runs great just no second.any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks
Scott
Sounds a bit dodgy bud. If you have no turbine left in your 2nd turbo the 1st one won't make any boost in TTC as the actuator is open allowing all the boost made go straight past the 2nd tubby and out through the exhaust. That was the main symptom for me when my 2nd tubby was fooked. I was still getting boost from the 1st turbo when in normal mode, nothing in TTC. Scott
Are you getting any strange noises coming off boost when you have it in the regular sequential mode?

Yup thats exactly what mine did. As soon as I came off boost it was like a woosh with a brap inside it lol. 2nd tubby is toast. Going TTC opens up the actuators. This means that rather than sequentailly operating both turbo's spool up at the same time. The exhaust, when working correctly, spins through the turbines of both turbo's spooling them up. As your 2nd turbo is fooked and doesn't have a 2nd turbine the exhaust gas is just taking the easiest way out and completely avoiding the 1st turbo all together. The 1st tubby may spool up a tiny little bit, due to the slight resistance for all the exhaust gas to exit through the 2nd turbine, but you won't see much pressure at all (1 or 2 psi). The trouble is it is very often the 2nd turbo that goes, even though the 1st one takes the most use in normal operation. Most often you have to buy the turbo's as an assembly and can't go down the cheap option of just buying the 1. Good luck to you anyway. Scott
I would recommend you spend the tenner and join up to the site mate. It will be worth it 100 times over in the long run bud. It's a tenner, the forum has already saved you 10 times that on diagnosis costs.
