jim_supra
I have just been reading that as of 2010 there will be a change in the formula 1 points system to make up for the extra number of teams on the grid. Link: http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2009/12/10279.html Points will now be awarded to the top ten finishers, rather than the usual top 8; 1st - 25pts 2nd - 20pts 3rd - 15pts 4th - 10pts 5th - 8pts 6th - 6pts 7th - 5pts 8th - 3pts 9th - 2pts 10th - 1pts The steward changes are that they will now incorporate ex F1 drivers to help make descisions on racing incidents and there will be 3 permanent stewards that will attend every race. What do we think? good idea or not? I think the Stewards change is a good one, something that has been needed for a while now but i'm not so sure about the new points system, I think they should have stuck with last years system. dr_jekyll
it will be good to have ex drivers as stewards so they can relate to situtions and make considerd decisions. i think the points will be good for the smaller teams who will steal a point here and there and they obviosly get payed by the point
Soop Dogg
The points system is 'similar' to that used in MotoGP and Superbikes. Seems to work just fine for them...
