optim8
Evening All, Took my Supra to work today (lots of big grins and disapearances in my rear view!) Anyway when leaving to come home, it's dark of course so on goes my lights. So my question here is what should light up within the car? For me I get Dash clock lights, heater matrix buttons, heater fan speed and cig lighter. I sort of feel I'm missing, my autoshifter and perhaps heater temperature dial. Any insight much appreciated. Lovin the Xmas Theme by the way!!!
AndyT
Driver electric window switch. Autoshifter should light up. No lights in the temperature control. Well mine doesn't anyway. Footwell lights? Perhaps with the courtesy lights when a door is opened. Not sure. Benyon
Im pretty sure all the buttons should light up and footwells also check lights on & for the door so people to see when they are open , you mentioned the rest I think thats it. Oh check the bunny hop button too.
mawby
Foot well lights only when a door is open, and it was an optional extra. (Or at least not present on all models)
Chewie
I could've sworn blind that the heater temp light use to be on. Bizarrely I only noticed there wasn't one only last week. I've owned my Supe for 8 yrs!
optim8
Thanks all, guess I'm missing a couple then, Footwell Courtesy lights are working fine too, forgot to mention that. Bunny Hop Button? Sounds great, Where do I get one? Want a 'Supra Pursuit' button as well but perhaps going BPU at some point might help that one!!! Chewie
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the water temp gauge brightness can fade to a faint glow while all the other gauges are bright. It's just one of those things you have to put up with with a 15 yr old car.
Suprab1
I could've sworn blind that the heater temp light use to be on. Bizarrely I only noticed there wasn't one only last week. I've owned my Supe for 8 yrs! This light works on mine. Just replaced the bulb about 3 month ago. Had to order it from toyota (little green bulb) couldn't get from any motor factors. stevie_b
No lights in the temperature control. Well mine doesn't anyway. Same here Andy: it seems strange that they didn't stick a bulb behind the heater dial/knob. This light works on mine. Just replaced the bulb about 3 month ago. Had to order it from toyota (little green bulb) couldn't get from any motor factors. Are you talking about the heater dial? From the text you quoted, it sounds like you are. If so, strange that your car has one whilst a lot of others don't. Surely that wasn't an optional extra...

Suprab1
Just checked there to be sure. Its the heater knob with 20-25-30 on it and lights up perfect. just unclip the dash panel and you'll find it handy. I replaced both heater temp & control you need long nose plyers for 1 or both can't remember.
stevie_b
Ah, maybe I was getting confused. IIRC the knob doesn't light up. Hence you can see the numbers like you said, but not the actual setting.
Suprab1
Yes the numbers light but there is also a line on the knob that lights so you can see your setting
jackso11
The temp and fan speed light up sometimes on mine, most of the time it doesn't work. On my last supra it never lit up. Guess maybe the connection is a bit crap after 10-15 years, when I do the blue dash conversion over xmas that will sort it out.
fizzle
ashtray should light when opened as well
Chewie
Only noticed a few months ago that the door lock surround lights up when I press the key fob. I never got round to cleaning it.
