creative
Well folks I thought I may do a little update now that 2009 is nearly over... and what an interesting year its been! After I wrote the supra off in flood water I bought myself a skyline.... loved it to bits but I lost my job and funds got tight so I had to put it away in the garage. In Feb I decided to sell everything and move to Australia. After putting the house up for sale etc etc it soon came around to me leaving in sept. Was certainly emotional family wise, but it has been the best decision I have ever made. Just had 3 months off to enjoy myself and going to be back in work in Jan either as a real estate agent (currently getting my licence) or in my trade of hospitality.. havent decided yet! this is where currently I live... a place called Terrigal. nice spot and not to far from everything! View from the pub window... Skylines and supra's are very common over here so I thought I would do the Aussie thing and buy a Ute! its a 5.4ltr, 350bhp, 6 speed manual V8.... and its awesome! a couple of sydney pics..... still hard to believe Im here but loving every minute of it! Jake
Sweet. Looks great. I love NSW, been there a few times. I've got a lot of family out in the Sutherland shires. Are you married/kids? Why did you chose there? Got family out there already? How did you get residency if you don't have a job to go to already lined up? I though they required that unless you're rich, which I presume you aren't, from what you said. I would've happily moved out there 10 years ago but its a non-starter with my other half, due to family ties. Best of luck to you mate, I hope it all works out for you. this is where currently I live... a place called Terrigal. You live in a car park? How about some pics of where you actually live? creative
Makes you think what you could actually do with your life, keep plodding on over here or take a leap and get a better quality life. Always used to watch "Going down under" in the mornings on BBC, would love to live over there.... yup! I always had the plan of moving back here but I did make the why the hell am I still waiting decision! Had another interview for an assistant manager in a pub over here and I would be on an extra 8k a year compared to when I actually ran one in the uk. more money and less shiote sounds like a winner to me!... when you work out how much myself and the missus would be potentially putting into the bank each month it reconfirms the fact I made the right choice! we would be and extra 3k a month better off! To some people that might not be alot (as I know many people on here are in the higher earnings) but to me thats a shed load of money to be saving! the pubs here are amazing! they have the usual bars and dining area bits but the big ones also have bookies, drive-in off licenses (the irony!), on site off licenses and upto 50 pokie machines (fruit machines). they cater for everything and the trade is very healthy over here. creative
For Brits wanting to emigrate to Australia now, are there very strict rules before acceptance? there has always been strict rules. It just depends on if you can meet the criteria. Usually boils down to money tho!
