Project Blitz- The Revival

Project Blitz

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

As you may know or may not know I have purchased The Blitz Supra

This was the car that was built to break the record around the Nurburgring back in ‘98

It recorded a 7:49 which is blistering fast even 10 years on!

Refer to list below

http://www.fastestlaps.com/track2.html

&

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%BCrburgring_lap_times

“Modified by Japanese automotive accessory company Blitz, it was claimed to be capable of 750 PS (552 kW; 740 hp) but ran on 606 bhp (452 kW; 614 PS) when time was recorded.”

I had my eye on this for the last 8 years and the poor car has been garaged for the last 7 & a half of that!

It has been featured in Max power, Japanese Performance and here: http://www.blitzsupra.com/

“The Blitz supra was build with one goal in mind- to shatter the road-car lap record at the Nurburgring”

The project has been taken on by LeeP who will do all the mechanics for me- it’s a long term project but it’s a legendary car so I have to get it back to original condition.

LeeP will be posting on here on my behalf & will have pics too!

Was over at Lees yesterday lovely looking car just could not get over the size of the compresser housings so cute:d

yeah they are tiny but hoping the spool will be really good and power through corners will be good, i guess thats why they used what they did to ge the best Track performance from it.

plan is to get the same power but all depends on what the Blitz Access ECU will allow if not then that may need to come out (hopefully not) as im not after big power

Good luck.

It's never been a look that I've liked but I enjoy seeing period cars like this kept as they were for historic reasons.

Me too. Although there was one in CA which was in Quicksilver that looked great with the standard bodykit and Blitz wheels.

Likewise I'm not a fan of the look, but it's a nice piece of Supra history and I applaud you for restoring it to its former glory.

I don't visit the skyline forum these days so don't know if Henry is still around on there, I know he used to own the car.
