Pot
And at least 16 more after that http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A60416589 Silverstone has agreed a 17-year deal to host the British Grand Prix from 2010, ensuring the prestigious race is not axed from the Formula 1 calendar. The Northamptonshire circuit stepped in to stage the event after Donington Park was stripped of the rights after being unable to generate the necessary funds. And the news ensures the oldest race on the F1 calendar retains its place. Under the new agreement, Silverstone will be redeveloped, with work focusing on rebuilding the pits and paddock. AJI
It is sad that sooo much funds were needed for Donnington. Bernie is a greedy little 'man'. Donnington would have been a refreshing change for the British GP venue, as silverstone is not such a spectator friendly place.
johnny g
Yep. Personally, I think that they should have trialled Donnington by rotating around the European Grand Prix at several "classic" circuits - to see how they handle an F1 event. The likes of Donnington, Estoril, Magny Cours, etc ...
