My girlfriend was about to sign on after searching for a long time, but she has just managed to get a new job (starting today in fact.) Unfortunately her brother had something to do with it, so he'll no doubt feel as if we owe him something. Would've loved to have seen their faces when you popped up in a Supra mind! kjgreen3
When I was out of work I was on the dole and also turned up in a supra. However I parked in the pay and display car park as I didn't trust the queue of job seekers not to do any damage out of spite or maybe think I was a job centre employee, in which case it would have been set on fire! If any of you have been on the dole its amazing what benefits you actually get. In real terms with council tax relief and rent, jobseekers allowance etc I worked out I was on the equivalent of £750 a month. No wonder so many people take so long to actually find work Hope it isn't the case with you J1mbob1 and that you find something soon in the mean time the benefits you can get will help you tick over. If I hear of any sparky work I will let you know.

Meko
Just signed on for first time in my life . Look at it as a tax rebate. You've spent your entire working life paying into that 'fund' and now you can finally get some back until work picks up.

We have had the odd week here and there but it's been about 3 months now with just bits and bobs. We are lucky we put some money away for a rainy day. We are hoping to buy a really poor house soon spend a few weeks on it and sell it on or rent it out. Last thing I want to do is sign on. Fingers Crossed.
