pedrosixfour
Hi y'all. I think I might've found another piece to further complete my track car puzzle. I discovered it on ebay, to which I am a complete novice, yesterday and am waiting on the seller to get back to me with more details and clarification. The problem is, according to his conditions he is only prepared to ship within the States as the item is fairly heavy. My questions are: What are my options for getting the part shipped myself should I end up buying it? Can anyone estimate the cost of getting a 40kg item delivered to this part of the world from Texas? Can anyone recommend a reasonable courier that will deliver from the States to Ireland? What are the hidden extras that I haven't even considered in my blinkered state? Thanks guys.
CardiffSupra
Not Sure about Ireland but in the UK items can almost double in price after all the tax, shipping and and other crap on top.
AlexM
I have no idea on the shipping, but beware that customs may stick a hefty tag on it. I'm very curious as to what it is..

Guest Rays the roof
Legal statement: This is what I have been told and in no way condone it or would ever do it! Use FEDEX. They will deliver from the USA to UK a 40kg package for around £70. If you seller by accident declared a much lower cost on the item Import and Vat is minimised should you get a bill. Import on car parts is 10% of total value (cost plus shipping) and VAT at local rate. If you need any help give me a shout and I can posiibly save you a few quid getting it shipped to me and then from here to you! Ramondo (Sir know-a-little) Nice one Ray, if I ever hear back from the seller () I'll drop a line to Fedex and see what they have to say. The part is only $160 to "buy now" so duty and VAT would be a small pill to have to swallow if I could keep the shipping costs reasonable. If the part can be shipped from Dallas to L.A. ($95) a guy here in Ireland has offered to add it to his palletised order coming in after christmas. If all else goes tits up I may take you up on your generous offer. Is the arm rest to your satisfaction? Regards, Damien.
