hogmaw
My own fault of course. I'd just done ANOTHER 12 hour day and wanted to get home. Squeezed through an amber, just when it went red, and there was a flash. B0LLOCKs. What can I expect? Fine? Points? Both?
gurteen0
Both I'm afraid unless if the camera was empty  You can live and hope matey Just dont answer the door to the postman in the next 14 days Good luck !!!!!!
hogmaw
Another thing, I was turning left just as the flash went. Hopefully the camera was pointing straight on, which may have missed me! But after all these years getting away with minor things like that I've a feeling my luck has run out.... wait and see eh
gurteen0
:unfair::unfair: remember if it comes after 14 days your in the clear as they have to write to you within that time Good luck matey
Abz
Yep it is 3 points & a £60 fine. Lets hope you turned quick enough as they are normally pointing straight. Put in a calendar appointment in your phone & wait 14 days. If you get nothing in the post then legally they can not pursue you for this conviction. Hope the camera has no film mate . trebor69
You could always park up somewhere , smash your ignition and set her on fire ! Report her stolen in the morning and tell em that you only just found out she was missing ! That way you can keep your lovely shiny licence ? Though that would be good if they did!
Class One
Never pays to be an amber gambler though in your case it was red, as the camera will only activate if you have crossed the stop line after the primary signal has turned to red. You have 14 days to wait.
benkei
I didn't think the traffic light cameras flashed? Some literature for you: Fixed Penalty Notice
MAD-MAX
RED lights mean STOP for a reason.. Not to try your luck and go through....!!!
hogmaw
RED lights mean STOP for a reason.. Not to try your luck and go through....!!! I'd disagree with that. In many parts of the world lights are switched off at less busy hours for obvious reasons. How many of us have sat there bored at a red light with all roads visible and nothing around whatsoever? It happens EVERY day eg pedestrians who press the button, but have long since walked off.... Having said that, the law is the law and the law is an ass. peter richards
red seems to be the new green , dont know what the driving instructors are teaching the kids or how they manage to pass the test , but it seems that if nothing is coming you can go WTF is that all about , its red ffs wait your turn . funny how amazing it is when someone does it , but then you pull up along side them at the next set , so what was the point , its red for a reason
