ADD Posted December 2, 2009 Share Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) As my hybrids have had a paddy and the seals have gone, i was thinking of putting a single on, with the mods i have at the moment what else would i need to get to support a T61 please? I know id need a manifold and downpipe..... Current mods: EMU, Blitz SBC ID III, 550cc, Resistor Pack, Miami-GT FMIC, TRL FCD, Denso IK24's, Walbro fuel pump, Nur spec, Full Whifbitz decatt, CW RR, HKS SSQV, AEM Wideband, HKS Oil Pressure and Water Temp. j80leo Posted December 2, 2009 Share Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) Compression test leak down test if no good fuel pressure regluator wastegate oil cooler screamer pipe/recirc pipe What miles are on the engine as if its alot then parts will be tired and need changing for stock new parts or modded depending how much horsepower you are wanting. Tricky-Ricky Posted December 2, 2009 Share Posted December 2, 2009 I can run up to 1.35 BAR on my 540cc injectors, i suspect they are actually flowing 600cc or over, Anyway to respond to the original question i would say you have it pretty much covered, just add an oil cooler, obviously with all the turbo ancillaries. The car has done 105k and i would most def get a compression and leak down test done before going any further. When you say turbo ancillaries what exactly are they? Basically manifold, turbo, down pipe,waste gate, screamer pipe, oil and water feeds and drains, pipework, filter, you seem to have the rest. Homer Posted December 2, 2009 Share Posted December 2, 2009 It's been pretty much covered already, but would just add that if you are not aiming for really high power figures I'd seriously consider a cast manifold over the tubular ones. The noise is rather important Cast tends to be cheaper but a lot depends on which system you choose - that's the really important bit. Noise wise I would say the cast is a bit quieter, but they do have their drawbacks. From the half dozen or so I've heard or driven they don't sound quite as nice off boost, but with an open screamer pipe you won't notice any difference once it's on full chat.
