Matt H
Next may I'm probably going to have to get rid of my old run around. I've been looking around and i'm blown away with the value for money that the 300c offers. Any thoughts? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/200948347232740/sort/priceasc/usedcars/make/chrysler/model/300c/radius/20/quicksearch/true/page/1/postcode/wa166ps?previous=%2Fsearch%2Fresults%2Fusedcars%2Fpostcode%2Fwa166ps%2Fradius%2F20%2Fmake%2Fchrysler%2Fmodel%2F300c%2Fquicksearch%2Ftrue%2Fsort%2Fpriceasc%2Fpage%2F1&anchor=advert200948347232740&logcode=p
Snooze
Same price could get you an equivalent GS300. That way you could potentially share 2JZ servicing bits, or leverage some of your existing relationships with suppliers? Chrysler certainly looks different, tho, if you're after a change! My old man used to have a Nissan 300C (with the VG30 engine) back in the 80's. That was a funny car!
tooquicktostop
I love the front of them and hate the back, not what I would buy with 12K as a run around (unless it was the V8 Hemi ) BMW 530 diesel is on my list for the run around instead of the E55 AMG

tooquicktostop
£12k would get you a V8 one Does it, my that is interesting and worrying at the same time, however I am not really sorting out my huge fuel consumption I guess tries to not go looking for a C300 Hemi

Snooze
I'd keep my Aristo over a 530d any day of the week - twice the power for half the money (wouldn't mind having a manual gearbox, tho' )
edge
Go and sit in a 5 series then sit in one of these tacky plastic things. They are horrid inside. Always thought they looked quite pimp from the outside and hated them after sitting in one. Would never waste my hard earned on a Chrysler. You can get a nice Lexus ls430, gs300 or new shape 5 series for that money.
jonathanc
Wow, a runaround for 12k Personally I think 300C has a real road presence but I am always in doubt of the build quality of yank cars. Like others have said, for that money you can get a GS300 which is more practical and most probably outperform the 300C. Or I will stretch that budget a little bit more (circa 2-3k grand) and get this beast : http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1309961.htm 5 litres of v10 power. Scott
You and Jamesy W have lots in common. Need lots of fake gold to drive about in anything like that IMO. A guy I know, I won't name him, has a chrysler similar in looks to the Bentley (not up on my chrysler or Bentley models) and when talking about it he calls it a Bentley. It's like footballers wives, only cheaper.
Pig
Not a bad car for the money. Badly built but based on an e class. You will look like a dick in it though....
Gaz6002
There's a reason they appear good value for money. Awful car.

Need4Speed
I'm always mistaking them for a Bentley! Buy the diesel if it's just for a run-araound, the V8 is brilliant but do you want the fuel bill?
Chris Wilson
Chrysler have historically kept tech info on their cars close to their chest, so DIY / none franchised garage repairs may be problematic. Chrysler build quality is no where near the average Japanese or decent European built car, stuff like heater controls and gizmos often go pop. The V6 3.5 twin SOHC engine Chrylsler make is superb. Not had any hands on on the V8, it looks complex, ancillary wise. Styling wise it's obviously personal taste, a friend describes them as a Nigerian's car, which I couldn't really argue with. Going on autotrader, there are a few for sale that are badged as bentleys It would be the 3.0l d if anything. The GS and LS don't really turn me on that much, I'd be tempted with a 5 series though.....
Gaz6002
In what way? Looks, handling, build quality, image portrayal... I could go on. Chrysler did a classic turd-polishing attempt (the Hemi edition) but even that is little more than incidental when you look at the competition. Matt H
Looks, handling, build quality, image portrayal... I could go on Well bar looks, which are objectional, I've only read positive things about the handling and build. It seems like the 300 is to the merc, as the jag x-type is to the mondeo. I agree that it's a rather pompous car, but it's so cheap!

I think you meant to say subjective, not objectional (isn't it objectionable anyway...), the latter is more accurate. The fact it's pompous and cheap is the reason it's more a wanna be drug dealer's car than a gentleman's car.
