benkei
Just wondering if there are any talented artists on here? And do you make a living from it, or is it just a hobby kind of thing? Since deciding to persue a career/lifestlye as a tattoo artists, I find myself really needing to pull my finger out and draw as much as possible. Having not drawn properly in a few years I was dissapointed at the crapness of some of my art, but I'm slowly getting back into the swing of it. I'm not sure if it's an artist/perfectionist thing, but I'm never completely happy with any of my drawings. Would be cool to share art and tips to help improve. I'll upload some shortly. Mike
There are quite a few pi$$ artists on here... usually on a Friday night... naming no names of course
Charlotte
I like art. I've done a couple of canvas style creations and I usually make my own christmas cards (not sticking crappy things on a card - actually draw them). Should really pursue something arty - maybe after my novel comes out. I always get complimented on my writing and drawings but I always think I can do better. I bet it's the same for you. Lbm
Last pic -I particularly like how you captured this one of Matt H building up to one of his infamous keyboard rants. It's all rather good and I think the 'perfection and not being satisfied' thing effects all creatives

Ewen
I used to do portraits (people / pets /houses) years back, got really bored and gave it up. Did a few sculptures too, got really bored and gave up. Did a few random doodles too, which really helped me when I was really bored and had given up...heres one... These days I get my creative kicks designing / styling boats, but I really want to start painting again, oils probably...just dont have the time just yet. Charlotte
I really love the fact that the people I like on the forum are surprisingly arty and wordy. Who'd have thought it from a supra forum. I used to try to draw a few years back. One of my efforts: Nice work! Did you only do that or did you do other stuff?

Nice work! Did you only do that or did you do other stuff? Yeah, there is other stuff around somewhere. I enjoyed drawing, but I also found it frustrating: no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get my pics to turn out how I wanted. Charlotte
no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get my pics to turn out how I wanted. You sound like David Hockney. I watched a programme about him going into the forest drawing the same trees in different lights, he hated all of them and they weren't how he wanted them to be. But they were exactly what he wanted, if that makes sense.
