mawby
It went pop. Genna replaced it. It went pop again. Not straight away but after 10 minutes of driving. Classic signs of a short circuit, but to my dismay having just looked at the wiring diagrams it seems this fuse controls; A/C control assembly, ashtray illumination, cigarette lighter illumination, clock, dash illumination, light control switch, fog light switch, front side marker light, front clearance light (a what?), hazard switch, license plate light, radio, rheostat (wtf?), tail and rear light side markers, retract control relay, stereo amp (removed), theft deterrent ECU (not equiped), and the taillight relay. I'm guessing things light radio, fog light switch etc are all just the illumination side as these have their own fuses anyway, but that's a lot things this one little fuse protects so before I start ripping everything out of the car again does anyone know of common places where this circuit can short so I can check them first? Bit annoying the tail lights and dash lights use the same fuse!
Tigger
Just like the clock/radio and wing mirrors - must be a jap thing:(
Branners
Did you try another fuse after the second one blew? Fuses are so cheap not that sometimes they just fail for no reason. Try another fuse and see what it does.
mawby
Problem found. The illumination signal for the stereo isn't used, and the little rubber sleeve over the end of the cable had worked its way up allowing the connector to short. Some insulating tape will hopefully stop that happening again.
