Need to get an agreed valuation on the insurance, but not sure what to value it at.. I know ide be hard pressed to get a good VVTI 6speed for less than 10k. this however is a converted NA6

have a look at my garage and let me know your thoughts..

You could pick up a 96 facelift manual N/A for about the 4k mark. Keron does TT transplants for around 2k. Take the VVTi into consideration along with some extra dough for a nicer N/A, call it 1k = 7k.

That would be with Keron doing the work though. Doing it yourself would be a fair bit cheaper. Or are VVTi's THAT much more expensive?

rebuilt vvti are not cheap, more than a normal conversion cost i should think, And from what i can gather VVTIs dont get transplanted often because of the work involved.. Its not quite as easy as the non VVTs.. Alot wont take the job on because if the unknown wiring problems

Here lies my problem lol

Think Dave sold his for a fair bit less. Can't remember exactly though. Was a 98 too.

In other words yes :)

Oh dear. That means all factory tt6 speeds must be worth £7k tops :D

Which i think people are slowly realising their cars are nowhere worth what they think.

Jody also add that it has a fully built engine which is crying out for a single turbo to be fitted :D

Of course it doesn't, they can be had for less thank 7k if you are patient though. A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay. My car wouldn't be going anywhere for a cent less than 10k as it stands (not that I'm selling) and if there were no takers then that would be my excuse to keep it. I know what my car is worth to me, if it's not worth that to someone else then tough.

It's all relative basically. Gaz sold his TT6 for not much over 6k iirc. If you have folding cash and you are quick to travel etc you can get a bargain, it is always a risk though. If you want a known car then you pay a premium.
