CJ
I'm currently selling some RAM on Ebay and have been sent a message by a prospective purchaser that says: "Hi, would you take an uncrossed postal order as payment? I don't have paypal and would like to bid on this". As i have never accepted payment nor paid for any items with a postal order before i was wondering if anyone can enlighten me as to how this works? The item will be dispatched from the UK and my son will have the postal order to pay in for me. Is it as safe as money? Do I pay it into a bank? A Postal order is like a cheque but can be cashed at a Post Office. (uncrossed) I think its safer if its crossed and can only be paid in at a bank, just like a personal cheque. I have used postal orders before now, and accepted them, but i never release any goods until i have cashed it, just incase! I hope this helps. Scott
Safe as houses. As long as the readies are in your hands you can send the item on. Clearly the money must be recieved before you send the item out so don't worry about it. The fact that its uncrossed means you don't need to worry about visiting any banks or getting your account hacked etc. You can just take it straight to the postie. jamesmark
When I used to always sell on Ebay, an uncrossed Postal Order was my preffered payment option. Hassle free cash in hand before you dispatch the item.
