Ian C
i recon some members on here would of had the same problem You aren't wrong, in fact there is a thread on the front page of tech discussing this very subject at the moment... The search button is your friend, it will tell you everything you need to know about dry solder joints, dodgy delimiters/converters and error codes. Have fun -Ian

supra joe
Yup sounds like the delimiter is playing up. how do i get to this delimiter mate and what do i do from there ? will disconecting it sort the problem ?
stevie_b
Assuming the delimiter is the cause (it probably is).... The delimiter is usually located behind the dash fascia, behind the speedo clocks or near the odometer. You can't just disconnect it and leave wires hanging in thin air: you'll need to either return the wiring back to stock (not hard to do, but I don't have the details to hand), or replace it with another. Code 42 is one of the most common faults on the mkIV supra. There's loads of info on here just waiting to be searched for.
