Wouldnt have to pass emissions i hope. I know the tyres would need changed. Fit overfenders? So would this be easy enough to MOT here in the UK. Hypothetical question

monsween
What about overfenders? I thought the wheels had to be "inside" arches
Tricky-Ricky
What about overfenders? I thought the wheels had to be "inside" arches Pretty sure you do need fenders to be legal, also i think the same applies to moving engine parts, IE belts, fans etc. Pretty sure the exhaust would be illegal too. bradleyh_15
reminds me of american graffitI! wouldn't be hard to fit fenders and get a nice bonnet slipped on with the top still popping out and just a small section of the exhaust! RedM
I love this stuff. I've just discovered that Boyd Coddington Hot Rod thing on some new Freeview channel. I once got royally owned by a bloke in a Rat Rod pick-up. I should have spotted the warning signs when we were in traffic. Where the Supra could just inch forward he looked like he was unleashing war and barely hanging on. When it cleared he was gone. I couldn't match him. Stephendjb
I had something like this behind me the other day. The engine was on display in the same way this is so, presumably that part of it at least is legal

JustGav
Yeah, and I don't know if it's just me but I can't not stare at that weird dude with no top lip. Does his mouth actually move? Bit of history (since they are VERY old episodes now) He was involved in a various serious accident I believe with Boyd's son. He eventually leaves and goes to work for Chip Foose. Said he had to have 9 plates in his skull holding his face together and that it was very slow getting feeling/movement back!

tbourner
Exhausts have to exit behind the drivers door, and you're not allowed open wheels. A lot of rodders have fenders on that are very close to the wheel and have a tread pattern painted on so it looks almost like open wheels. Also most will have a switch to change to a more 'normal' exhaust, and then switch in the straight pipes when at shows or whatever. TBH most get away with breaking the laws because of what they are, it'd have to be a really crappy morning for the cop to pull you up on it all - especially so if you're on your way to a show. Cheers for the advice. I didnt know the exhausts had to exit after the doors. All can be arranged i suppose. Anything else really. I imagine they dont need emissions testing
tbourner
TBH I'm not that sure, I've never owned one just hang around with guys that do. Try the NSRA website, I'm not a member but they have a forum so might be worth asking on there.
