I've got to have a mole removed!

TBH I thought it was a Gerbil.

Apparently they will punch it out! That's animal cruelty in my book.

Seriously though, has anyone had a mole removed by skin punch? It's on my calf muscle so I'm hoping it wont hurt too much or stop me from running.

I have had a mole removed from my back (which back?!), but that was by traditional scalpel cutting methods.

I assume they will use a hole punch kinda thing, which could be quick and efficient, maybe for the mole's benefit more than yours. I hope it gets re-homed and on to a better life back where it belongs.

You, I couldn't care less about, though. :p:D

They are normally removed, and then tested for nasties, etc, as a precaution. Better out than in, kinda thing. :)

Not always. There has to be a clinical suspicion before randomly cutting out anything, which usually results in shave biopsy or punch biopsy prior to full scale assault.

In that case, I want mine back, as it wasn't nasty at all, just rather big, and the scar took forever to heal properly!

Is there a reason to get it removed? I mean, has it been biopsied and found to be pre-cancerous, or just unsightly?

It just itched a lot. By a lot I mean like three months. It wouldn't stop itching so I got sent to the hospital and they said they'd whip it out although they are pretty sure there is nothing to worry about.

There was no suspiscion when mine was removed. I had a mole on my back that caused me no trouble at all. Went in to get a wart removed and they spotted the mole at the same time and decided to just remove it at the same time. First time they used the freezing method, wart came back and had to be burned off a year or so later.
