AlexJames
I was just thinking... does the actuators that rattle become redundant when you change to TTC? could you not just bypass it with a hose?
Scott
TTC causes rattling actuators? Can't say I've had that one personally. What do you want to bypass with a hose? The actuator? It's the actuator that holds the bypass open to allow TTC to happen. If you bypass the actuator (can't be sure where you would bypass it to) it wouldn't open and you would be left with single turbo operation. Have a think about what you want to do and I'll try to describe what you need to do to achieve it Edit: Are you thinking of the VSV's and getting mixed up? AlexJames
ahh yes!!! sorry, total mistype.... VSV that rattles... this is me and my dyslexic brain screwing around... The VSV rattles because of the lack of pressure that would normally be there.. is that correct.. if so... is the VSV still needed... I am admitting here that I dont actually know what the VSV is for by the way
Scott
If you want to make the TTC mode permanent then yes you can remove the VSV's. If you are using the electronic TTC mod then you will need the VSV's to hold open the actuators. I don't really understand why they are rattling, that is quite a strange issue. Is the wiring perhaps wrong? When are they rattling (on or off boost etc). The best way to do the TTC mod is to wire both of the actuators open. That way you can remove the entire sequential rats nest along with the VSV's. You have to be sure that it's the way you want to go though as putting it all back in is a PITA. Tricky-Ricky
Its the IACV and the read valve in the second turbo feed pipe that can rattle in TTC,i removed mine. If you want to go permanent TTC the its best just to remove all VSVs and wire open the IACV and the EGCV, you can then remove the actuators as well. AlexJames
Ahh that makes more sense, yeah the rattle only happens when you start the engine when its cold.. and only sometimes.. a full rev through the range fixes it though... Yeah I like eTTC, but I think of the re-sale value, if someone wants it sequential then I guess its not a good idea to remove... Food for though though, cheers guys.
