Con-rods can be dangerous!

Many of you will remember this picture....

When I hydrolocked my old supra bending two con-rods... well check these two pics out, this is from the works car. My boss was driving it when he heard a bang... and managed to coast the car to a safe location on the motor way.

 

When the AA guy got there he pulled this out of the engine tray (not sump, but tray) and he managed to pull the broken part of the con-rod out of the other side of the gearbox :blink:, that it had managed to go straight through.

 

The AA guy couldn't believe what he saw and took pictures to send it round to all his colleagues. That small section of the con-rod went through the engine wall, engine bay, through the gearbox and lodged in the outer casing..! :blink:
