hiten55
How does James Dyson seem to be able to manipulate air flow to such a crazy level?? And the products seem to last forever!! We had a dc01 that we finally threw out last year - not because it didnt work, but because it looked tatty! the airblade hand driers are great, especially when people cant figure out how to use them but this has to be the best so far!! one small step for man, one giant leap for health and safety!! http://www.dyson.co.uk/images/fans/fanLargeFaceOn.jpg more info here: http://www.dyson.co.uk/fans/ i know what im asking santa for maybe someone needs to point mr Dyson to the world of engine cooling..... Jurgen-Jm-Imports
sounds great but am still trying to figure out how it can power the air out, at greater volume than a normal fan.
hiten55
have you tried the hand drier? thats the tricky one to figure out. had them at work for the last two years, still cant work out how the magic box works

Spike3.0
Dyson needs a kick in the balls for taking his factories from the UK to overseas to save him self cash. I know money makes the world go round, but he was always bigging himself up about having a British factory

You can't blame him for trying.

I met him once whilst working in his house (odd that ). Seemed pretty down to earth. I've been told he keeps his private helicopter at RAF Lyneham. hiten55
So what if it doesn't 'buffet' the face £199.99 is a lot of $$$ for a fookin fan but it will sell. people will buy it for the reliability and safety factor. if they can sell it at £199.99 why would they sell it for less? its business at the end of the day. Companies will charge because idiots like me will pay
supra_aero
Great idea but for £200 I'd spend a bit more and get an air conditioning unit. Therefore fail.
Scott
I'll wait on the Chinese ripping it off and selling it for a tenner. Least the weather will be better then.

I know money makes the world go round, but he was always bigging himself up about having a British factory I agree, the country that made him rich and he sh*ts on British workers.........greedy f*cker imo. Had one of the first Dysons and the quality was top notch, had it for 10yrs without a fault and sold it for a decent amount then replaced with a new 'foreign made' one and I have to say the materials used and the quality has dropped
Gerry
IMO mediocre inventor but brilliant marketing man. The vacs are not as good as many on the market and quite a bit more expensive. The technology is no different to many vacs you can buy and the filtration not as good as many cheaper as well. People buy them because they are a “Dyson”. Suspect the bladeless fan has blades in the body of it and the air is redirected. Good idea but not genius really, especially at £200 ! You got to hand it to him when it comes to making lots of money though… G

IMO it is Britain that got greedy and forced him out the door. He wanted to expand his factory and was denied permission. What option was he left with? I don't think greed has anything to do with it to be honest. I do agree that quality control will have suffered as a result though.
far
I wonder how much louder it is than a regular fan. Dyson brand is still not as strong as hoover though - I still say 'im doing the hoover' when using the Dyson
