AndyT
Paul Whiffin (Whifbitz) is putting built blocks together. They should be available soon. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=202861
Supra-Dreamer
Thanks, 'cause It's Just easier doing that rather than having to buy part after part all the time.
AndyT
Yes it is mate. It's a small niche that Paul has seen and is willing to put the effort in. You know everything will be top notch too. Good luck and keep us posted if you decide on taking it on. Also you know everything will work together first time too. That's a big bonus. RobSheffield
Are you wanting to ship a full engine out there or are you wanting them local? Wouldnt it be easier/cheaper to buy from Australia?

Too early for me. Didn't even see he was in New Zealand. Forget my posts Supra Dreamer. The cost of transporting would be astronomical.

TLicense
It's funny you've mentioned this as over the last few days I've been discussing with a couple of members becoming a hobbyist and offering exactly this. The problem as I see it though is that very few people would actually pay for a "new" built engine. The MVP shortblock as advertised is a little misleading as the image they show is a actually a long-block. A fully built long-block would set you back somewhere in the region of £10k - £12k plus labour at a guess.
dr_jekyll
sorry to wander off topic here, but 2jz long block and short block? could someone shed some light for me please.
JamieP
Id try RIPS, they build some mental skyline engines and are on your door. sorry to wander off topic here, but 2jz long block and short block? could someone shed some light for me please. Longblock is a complete engine, shortblock is just the block.

tooquicktostop
I would look at a new Toyota short block, replace stock rods with lighter rods, ARP bolts and ARP head studs, then a built head, nothing more, this would reduce cost and can take more than enough street power, I would also always add a new water and oil pump and crank pulley

Beat me to it Jamie, RIPS build great engines, he could even do an RB30 conversion. As for not getting a lot in NZ, well the drag scene is bigger than here, so there are quite a few serious tuning shops in NZ.

dude
You should be able to get a 3.4 short engine all built for around £6-7K depending on spec.
