Missile
Sorry to hear this, how rubbish. Well good luck to a speedy recovery and back to the MOT without issue this time.
barneybrendan
Well the charger is definately knackerd see for yourselves. It looks as if the rear bearings have given up causing the impellers to destroy themselves and the internals of the case. David P
That looks to be a reasonably epic fail. In the 4th pic, the journal on the left looks as though it has been 'cack' for sometime, did the charger have any oil in it? Hope you haven't sucked a crock of problems into the engine! barneybrendan
charger was topped up nicely with oil but that doesnt lubricate the rear bearings as the oil is only in the snout casing.GOING to drop the oil tomorrow and check but if any got through the intercooler it would be minimal i hope. David P
Think you need to wash out the inside of the intercooler too.

jagman
Bad news ! But that charger did sound fooked , it does help to run PCV through the charger as it lubes the rotors might gain a PSI or two with a good charger
Chris Wilson
Oh dear, what a mess Looks to me too as if the needle roller bearing was the cause of the fail.

barneybrendan
descided to get away from the engine side of things today and trial fit the rear fenders again ,but this time i spaced the wheel out 50mm which is damn perfect.the tyre edges line up perfectly with the outside edge of the arch.Im going to use spacers on all 4 corners now as i do actually like my wheels and funds wont allow new wheels anyway. DodgyRog
Hmm nice, whats your impression on how they would blend to an OEM Skirt mate Looking at the 3rd pic, it looks like the bottom is a long way out, in the Ridox Wide kit are they wider skirts or just Ridox skirts If I did go this route I am thinking of going with the low level Euro spoiler, that should give the impression it's even fatter Edited March 25, 2011 by DodgyRog (see edit history)
ripped_fear
looks very nice mate it is a great kit, widebody can work really well, if it follows the original lines and your a proving this! as above about the skirts they do seem to come out really far is it the standard ridox skirt or a special wide version? Shane
Hey Barney, I have my M90 here doing not a lot and was just waiting to get the time to remove the bracket from the block of my red car before sticking them both in the for sale section. It did suffer a snapped shaft that I then repaired by having a custom coupler machined up for it, but if your snout is in tact you may be able to hybridise? I believe it is in good nick and I replaced the coupler and seals from a kit a bought from the states.
