Homer
Amazing result Brendan, really pleased for you The torque curve is showing you're on the right track, just a case of find tuning eveyrthing now, with something this original it was never going to get to it's maximum potential on the first try. It would be an awesome thing to have your car overlayed on a stock na ,and a TT and a single turbo once you are done - then see the area under the curves I'll do an overlay later, Bredan's vs NA vs BPU TT
Homer
Comparison of engine torque: NA vs BPU-TT vs T67 Single vs Brendans NA-SC. Very impressive result for Brendans car! The NA, TT and single dyno charts are from my cars and also dynoed on a dyno dynamics rolling road (SRR), so should be a realistic comparison

dr_jekyll
hi homer if i send you my dyno plot , could you put the basic na-t comparison on you graph ?
jagman
If 7 psi added over 170 ft lb , then another 7 psi would push the curve well up - another 100+ now we are talking torque!!

Ryan.G
Good to see it came together in the end and that AFR got to finish what they started. Nice Job Cant what to get my V8 on the dyno now as im hoping i will have full boost around 2000rpm with the VNT's. Got a feeling it will have too much torque for 295's
jagman
Very nice indeed, I guess I am not the only one who is thinking what a SC and T67 would look like bolted on together That would be a real axle snapper !! set up like the vw golf , declutch the charger at 4000 ,and bypass,so you wont ever overspeed the charger ;this would allow mental boost at low rpms ,then mental boost at high rpms -- all in all mental !! - sounds like a project for Dude! STarted on the bodywork now ,got the ridox front fenders out the packets to find they are damaged.Lady luck doesnt shine on me i can tell you.For genuine ridox they are not made very well.there is no matting on all the leeding edges ,just resin whichh has started to chip off.The fit isnt too bad but to be honest i would of expected them to just bolt on easily for the money .The end bits that take the headlights have to be messed around with and they are fitted back too far. barneybrendan
What SC do the AMG SL55 engines run? Lysholm-type supercharger manufactured by IHI rather expensive and hard to get hold of.But they are a nice compact unit. http://www.retrocarclub.co.uk/topic/9213-sl55-amgs-highly-efficient-lysholm-type-supercharger/ if it was money no object i would go for a whipple. Nice unit, I like this part The supercharger is also equipped with an electro-magnetic clutch that can be used to switch it on/off depending on rpm and load
barneybrendan
it would be ideal for a twin charged set up,but then the eaton m62 is also clutched and a smaller unit giving more lower rpm grunt if you were twin charging. Chris Wilson
Great link, I have always wanted to see the supercharger castings off the SL55 AMG, nice what you can do if you have manufacturers budgets and resources? Thanks. I watch this thread every now and again, RB26 / 30 with Lysholm SC. Nice build, still ongoing. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/121716-screw-type-supercharged-rb30-200sx.html
Ian C
Just caught up with all this, well done Barney I'm glad the EMU came good in the end, I hope the guys at AFR could make some use of the base map although it was probably cobblers as it was mostly guesswork
barneybrendan
Cheers Ian,you were a great help getting it this far mate.As you are aware my wirring and computer knowledge is minimal at best, but you put up with me .The good thing was the car was actually running when i took it to AFR which made their work a bit easier,When i was getting it off the trailer the pipes blew off again so the first thing dude done was to remove them all and get beads put on the ends, know more load pops after that . barneybrendan
Descided to do some work on the appearance today.Firstly i removed the rear wiper motor and welded a plate flush so it only needs some build up primmer now. Then i fitted the rear gt type wing i got off another member, real happy with the look and it fitted the standard holes. I then descided to do some work on the ridox front fenders trying to get them to line up better than they did before i fix the damage on them.As you can see the alignment is all but there now.I am loving the look of them and cant wait to get the rest of the kit now.I think the full ridox race look will suit the car perfect.
