Neil-NA
Been on the rolling road this morning with my NA and made 203.7 bhp and 184.8lbft of torque at the fly. This is quite a bit down on power and i need to try find out why. The car only has a Blitz panel filter and Nur spec R exhaust, was also recently serviced. One thing that was mentioned was the fact i mostly only drive it to and from work, a total of 3 miles, not even giving the car time to get up to running temp. Is it possible i just need to give it a good thrashing for a while or is there anything i should be checking or changing? Will get the graph up ASAP for you to all have a laugh at
stevie_b
Well, these cars are getting on a bit now and you'd expect them to lose a few horses over the years. 200bhp from an NA sounds about right.
Neil-NA
Hmmm, the guy said it just feels sluggish. Just worried that there might be a problem.
Thorin
What did it make at the wheels? It will only have been estimated at the fly anyway.
supspower
My old 94 NA made 218 at the fly with similar mods
martini
Where did you do this mate? Been on the rolling road this morning with my NA and made 203.7 bhp and 184.8lbft of torque at the fly. I would have hoped for about 200 from mine; I am intrigued now! Mine will be getting serviced after Christmas and I do wonder how our cars compare. m_life has driven both of them. Neil-NA
I got it done at F1 automotive in Bolton, Just off the ringroad on the A666. I was hoping fro as close to 220 @fly as possible. They didnt give me the info on the WHP as he could tell i was pissed off and wanted to go.
tooquicktostop
Sounds about right to me for an old engine you would expect to lose some from the factory amount Plus to are only getting an rough fly amount, WHP is a better indication Edited November 24, 2009 by tooquicktostop (see edit history)

dr_jekyll
i wouldnt worry too much mate, i took my old bm on a few different sets of rollers and my results fluctuated by 22bhp, the ambient temp and humidity can play a big part on the day aswell. if you were getting 180 at the fly then id be concerned. I know a guy who also has a rolling road, just waiting for prices off him as he has only just opend.
Jake
They didnt give me the info on the WHP as he could tell i was pissed off and wanted to go. It means nothing then. Unless you know how much (percentage) was allowed for drivetrain loss? FWIW your figure sounds OK to me mate. If you took it somewhere else I bet it would magically improve by 10%. eg supspower's place. The place you went to, do they do tuning/servicing work? Jake
Honestly mate, don't sweat it if the car is running right (serviced properly etc). Dynos make you paranoid. Were you happy with the car beforehand or did you think it was down on power?
Neil-NA
I have been happy with it, only thing or concern was a flat spot in the middle of the rev range.
tooquicktostop
I have been happy with it, only thing or concern was a flat spot in the middle of the rev range. Put the stock air box back on, this may help with the flat spot, the exhaust change may have affected this also
Neil-NA
I am on the stock airbox with blitz panel filter.

tbourner
Cars generally lose 1-2 BHP per year anyway don't they? Losing only 20BHP in 15 years is pretty good really.
dukenukem
Compression test? but 203BHP doesn't sound too bad.
AlexM
Get it on Surrey Rolling Road, then you'll have an accurate comparison to other Supra's in the club. An unknown figure on an unknown dyno is pretty meaningless.
hoff
The figure sounds OK to me too. Like Alex said try and get it down to Surry (there is a a club dyno day there next month). They are the most respected guys on here and do not inflate figures at all and are very accurate. But dont worry about you're figure as it stands, it's not bad at all really. foggy147
hmm might give these guys a try myself soon see if mines lost much power or not, feels tight and seems to pull strong but being my first supra not really got anything to compare it to
