Matt H
Well, this morning on my way in to work, my reliable old escort Alan seemingly took his last mechanical breath. If the AA can't bring him round from the brink, it might be time to look at cashing him in for the £2k scrapage bonus.. I hear some used car places are offering a scrappage incentive too. T2 MSW
Why not just use the supra for a bit Matt
Geo
Know your pain weeman, my wee Pug seems to be struggling at the Moment also. Little worse horse he is to. Although a nice tidy 2k sum for him might be the best for him just now.

clarky666
Is valid tax and MOT the only requirement for qualifying for the scrappage or does it have to be functional ?

Matt H
Although a nice tidy 2k sum for him might be the best for him just now. I've been on fords website, and they're offering a discount of £4.6k with scrappage on a mondeo! Still, that means buying a new mondeo! Rip Alan Thank you Is valid tax and MOT the only requirement for qualifying for the scrappage or does it have to be functional ? I don't think it has to be functional, it's just to get people to buy new cars. I never liked Alan anyway. How can you say that? You've never met Alan? Don't think it needs to be functional. Matt H
What I'm doing now I've got mine back I need a second a motor. I left Alan on a side road every day to get the tram into work. I wouldn't do that with the supra. Plus, Alan was also good at taking a heavy load when I've been doing the old D.I.Y trips (doors etc). Have you seen how cheap you can get a 350z for? I quite fancy a Chrysler 300c estate though
Matt H
Alan's alive! Off he went to the mechanics to be diagnosed with a bust fuel pump. Unfortuneatly, the pump is not easy to get as it's in the tank with little access. The tank had to be dropped to get at it. £278 (cash) to replace it more than the cars worth!
