Guest Daves2JZGTE
OK so when i was 16 i got my first MK2 From the time i was 16 till i was 20 i had no need for speed so to say. I was all into big sound systems but thats not what this tread is about. In 2000 i decided i wonted to go fast and swapped in my first 7MGTE witch was way cool. All was good well till this happend I had a truck back over my car as i watched:( Witch brings me to my second MK2. Having a good amount of parts in my black MK2 i decided to just run out and pickup a good shell and swap all the parts over. $800 later i got my 84 wight MK2 with a nice big hole in the stock motor Amazingly the car still ran. Drove it off the trailer and into my yard to swap out all the parts. Anyway the interior in the 84 was shot so it went into the 83 with the blown motor now on with the 84 Now i started to mod the 7M. upgraded the inter cooler turbo and along with that all the supporting mods.... fuel system head work bla bla bla. In the end i got 400rwtq and 400rwhp out of the 7M witch led to better wheels and tires and alot of broken parts like the stock trans and stock diff. So a R154 trans was installed and a better diff. The car stayed like this for some time till i decided to do a restoration on the car in 2006 witch was just about a one year project. NOW we can get to what you all came here to see!!!! Guest Daves2JZGTE
The car has never bean 9 out of 10 or a 10 out of 10. Since I have modded just about everything in the car performance wise that I had planed it is now time to make the car look as good as it drives. We will start of with some before pics. Pics inside and out. As you can see in some shots the car looks pretty dam good but others you can see what I see every time I look @ the car. So first things first PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was guna go base coat clear but opted for a PPG concept single sage in the end. Side note if you go single stage make shore you have a really good paint shop. The clear coat will cover a lot of little blemishes. So I stripped the car down for paint and bodywork. As you will see in the following pics I had the antenna, rear wiper, rear squirter, trunk key and head light squirters removed. You can also see just how dirty my engine bay was. There’s more but that’s the short list. Well over $2K just to Mark @ Toyota. Here is a pic of some of the parts. Pic of some OEM parts. Guest Daves2JZGTE
So x weeks pass and I go pick up my car Pics of car. How jazzed am I! woo hoo.. …. But o no after I got it home upon closer inspection we see some flaws……………… Pics of flaws Well it terns out the boss was out of town when my car was getting worked on hence what you see. So I had to take the car back for touch up work. The bad thing had to take it back. The good thing it was no big deal. They ree sanded the car fixing all flaws and resprayed the car. All in all though it took longer I thing I got a better paint job out of it.

Guest Daves2JZGTE
With the inside almost done i terned to the suspension sorry i didn't take pics of all the suspension mods. I pulled the rear and did the camber mod (no pics) when the rear was out i added a cote of undercarriage paint to the car (no pic) then I pulled out the front suspension to cut down my struts to match my shorty struts (mr2) Pic of one modded one not With the car back on the ground this was ready to go in motor pic Time passes lots of wiring had to be done as i replaced all the wireing form the 7M but now it runs teeser pic I think its really hard to show how good a white paint job is do to the fact that if you take it out in the sun its just blinding white so i took some shots to try to show the contrast from strate sun and shade And reflections are cool Well since i was a DUMB ASS and sent my car to paint with my good rims on!!!!! this is Front 16" after 2 hours of buffing and its still not done to my satisfaction
Supranature
That looks awsome. I assume the rear bumper is US specific? Dont seem to recall them being so proud in the UK. The 80s 911s had horrid overriders fitted to US versions.
marcAB10
absolutely awsome build and car!

Guest Daves2JZGTE
So last year I had a friend approach me asking me if I could help him get his MK3 running so he could sell it to his friend. This led to an offer to buy my 7M setup from me. Glenn (the devil my best friend) kept dropping 2J in my ear. “Sell Ronnie your motor and go 2J” So I did. Just before Vegas last year I hammered out a deal to sell my 7M. 2008 Vegas (SILV) was my 7Ms last hera in a MK2! With fresh dyno numbers I pulled out my motor to send it home to a fat pig. o he got a bigger turbo The deal was on a payment plan so it took some time for me to get up funds to buy my very first 2JZGTE. Finally I got to order my motor. Living in California made this an interesting project because I cant just slap a single on it and be done. Though I was thinking about an SP61 or GT35 for a killer street setup. Dam smog…. Anyway I decided to go OBD2 with a brand new 1998 harness. With that and a chit lode of new parts the build began. I stripped down the motor and pulled the rod and main caps off to check the bearings. They looked perfect. So I ordered new ones and installed them. After that the motor got new pumps and assembled for mock ups Next I made some motor mounts One thing I hated from day one is the dogleg for an oil cooler/filter mount. So I decided to fix that. Take one 5m oil filter nut form the block one threw bolt form a 2j oil thing and a nut. Cut paste and BAM you have an adapter on your block. Guest Daves2JZGTE
@ this point I had made some big $ decisions and they started showing up. An OSGIKEN Twin STR clutch showed up. Followed by my turbo selection. Twin GT28 turbos with stock housing machined to fit. This is like an up graded CT26 but this is a true GT28 with just the outer housings machined to fit the GT28 center section. Known as the STU turbos. Should make high 400s on 91 pump gas and high 500s to low 600s on race gas. RWHP that is. With the new turbos I had to make water and oil lines witch I forgot to take pics of… You can kinda see them in a latter shot. I also went with everything U.S. speck I.E cams and injectors. The next big problem was to mount my Jim King 7M AC compressor on my 2J. This was a aftermarket AC kit for the MK2 with stock motor or 7M but no one had tried it with a 2J till now. Big thanks to Zank for letting me use his compressor as min was still in the car charged. So with Zanks compressor for mock up I modded a 7m bracket to fit onto the 2j using the stock serpentine belt. Another thing I wonted to keep the clutch fan with a 7m 10 blade fan so I had to fined a combination that would fit the 2j pump and the 7m fan but fit with the limited room I have between the rad and water neck. With some help form are friendly pars guy (Mad dog Mark… his mom makes grate cookies!!) We came up with a Tundra clutch fan. with the clutch on, the motor was ready to go in. O the OS had a cool push to pull conversion too. You can see in this shot I added egr to the motor witch ment I had to drill the head to do this. So now the motor is in. not plumed and I still have to do the wiring but the motor is in all pretty and painted.

Guest Daves2JZGTE
Got the Exhaust DONE!!!!! I really need a lift!!!! 2' off the ground just isnt much room. I also got the IC piping done - the recirculation flange for the BOV I added a cooler to the Power steering. You can kinda see it in this pic. I have yet to add the return line to it.
