Sorry, pet hate You could buy a standard 12 mm drill, cut it short with angle grinder, then get someone to weld on a short stepped sleeve, making sure it's true in a lathe. dangerous brain Posted December 5, 2009 Share Posted December 5, 2009 For future reference HSS drill bits are very brittle. Stick a towel over it then stick it in a vice and smack it short and hard tap with a hammer and it will snap straight off leaving you with a shorter drill bit. 12mm will need a damn good tap though.
