Scott
Over the last few weeks I have been watching the X-Files from start to finish. I have just started Season 9 Episode 10 and I'm really struggling to get through the last few episodes. I often get the hankering to watch a particular show and when I do, I go from start to finish. In most cases I get bored of watching the same thing all the time and end up giving up. X-Files is one of those strange shows where I'm finding myself giving up because it has changed so much, when the episodes were the same or similar it just worked. IMO it went off the rails around season 5 but I've found it bearable right up until Mulder had to mysteriously disappear for some reason (ok, a very thin explanation is given)... never to be seen again.... until the movie of course. Don't get me wrong, I like t2's character and the chic is mighty fine but it's just not mulder and scully for me. Any fans?
mathew
i used to be a fan when it was shown after the watershed. it just seemed so much better when i was younger and getting to stay up late to watch it. it added to the whole spookyness of it. Oh yes, them were the days... its true what you say about staying up late to watch it! Think it started around 10pm?
marc_p
It was great when every episode was a different story(the early stuff) but when they started making a proper storyline that went from episode to episode it got complicated and my head started to hurt so I stopped watching. Doesn't answer the question but are you familiar with the expression "Jumped The Shark"?
Scott
Doesn't answer the question but are you familiar with the expression "Jumped The Shark"? Yeah, I reckon that was what happened around season 5. Before that the stories had always been a bit out there, during and after season 5 they were just ridiculous. AndrewOW
I used to love the X-Files when it was first aired, but it went weirdly wrong was during series 7, but when Doggett was introduced, I liked it again, for a whole different reason. RiceRocket
Think it was when they mentioned the bees. Haven't seen any of it for ages. Must buy the lot on dvd but I can't spare £65 (Amazon) at the mo.

Scott
Just finished the entire show 20 seconds ago. What a rip off that last episode is. Absolutely fantastic for about 1 hour. It is totally gripping and pulls you right in expecting all the answers then nothing... no... wait...... SPOILER!!!!! Spoiler!! Spoiler!! We are all going to die in 2012! Fantastic! To say I am gutted with the ending of the last episode is an understatement. Oh well, there is always Californication!
