Suggestions for NYE abroad

I have decided to spend NYE out of the UK since I have very recently become single for the first time in 5 years and I need a decent holiday asap!

Right so, I really wanted to go to NY, but the flights are ridiculously expensive around Christmas and my friend can't afford it. So I have looked in to Berlin, but I'd like to go somewhere with a good event going on for NYE... What does everyone else usually do?

How about venice? Not sure what would be happening over NY but depends what your looking for, if it's the partying scene probably not the best but if it's just to get away and chill out you can't go for wrong?

Partying!! I've spent the last 5 years not doing anything NYE except a cosy night in a restaurant for two.... I need to have some fun, and lots of it!!

Hmm maybe Barcelona.

Well if you can get the money to go to NY, then I would go to NY, you would have a fantastic time im sure, and lifes for living no point holding anything you want to do off, im sure you could pick up some pretty good deals for this time of year

Thailand is 'interesting'. In 2005 I spent NYE in a go-go bar with millions of fireworks and ping-pong balls flying everywhere.

:D Lol.

I'm considering Amsterdam now... All the good places are booked up already and anything left is silly prices :(

Is there a site which lists what's happening in the cities of Europe or something?! I'd love to see Tiesto but he's in Las Vegas this year which is like 4k for 4 days...

Dubai, nice weather and the best service in the world

Dominican Republic, best party island in the Caribbean and not as expensive as you may think, all inclusive as well !!

Checked out Dubai, mega bucks!! Worse than NY in fact!! These places would be nice, but I should have booked it months ago!

Looks like the only options are places like Barcelona, Prague, Amsterdam, Berlin etc. I suppose I'll have a good night wherever I go.

Amsterdam is an event in itself, pretty red lights and wonderful sights everywhere you look. The cafe's are also really relaxing and its guaranteed to be the highest point of your trip lol.

LOL I am sure they will relax me :D Yeah I've always fancied Amsterdam. I'm now thinking about good old London, Pacha or Fabric maybe... Ahhh why am I so indecisive!!
