michael
Staff at mobile phone company T-Mobile passed on millions of records from thousands of customers, a spokesman for the firm has confirmed... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8364421.stm I wondered where those odd phone calls from random companies came from each time my contract was due to renew, I guess this answers it. Does anyone else get these on their T-Mobile mobile? "Hi Michael this is two-bit telecom, your T-Mobile contract is due to expire and we can offer you..." hiten55
i know a few people who have been cold called around renewal time. its pretty obvious where the info has come from. doesnt take a rocket scientist to work that out. but as always, red tape dictates all. luckily none of them were me

Homer
I always had a suspision Orange were doing this too, for the last couple of years every time my contract comes up I get flooded with calls from Indian call centre's offering "low priced deals sir"
ivan
I got the same from Orange too (back in the day when I had a contract phone). Shame it was a company phone and I couldn't take advantage of their wonderful offers.

michael
never had it with O2 That's because the staff at 02 are too stupid to be able to do it... based on my experience as a customer for many years before T-Mobile anyway. Computer says no.

Computer says no. They used to be in the building next to me when I worked for BT Ignite - and I can't disagree with you, they could not think outside the procedures. mawby
I never had this with 3 until they phoned me up because I was cancelling my contract. After 20 minutes of them trying to give me better and better deals they finally got the message I wasn't going to change me mind. (When they phone me I'll happily waste their money listening to their sales pitch before saying "No - cancel my contract please") So, two days later I get a phone call. Now it wasn't an Indian call centre, more like someone's kitchen! I could hear - but barely understand - this bloke stating that my contract was up and he could offer me a mega, super, once-in-a-lifetime, you're-a-fool-if-you-miss-out deal. At the same time, however, I could hear his (I presume) young daughter in the background merrily chatting away whilst eating her (again presumed) dinner. Anyway, I decided I was indeed a fool and just told him my "I'm getting fed up now, just go away" excuse of "I don't need a phone, I've been given one for work".
