jihwaan
OK, I know I need to change the sump and the power steering pumpo over, but if I was going to put an aristo vvti motor into my supra (which is vvti) what else would need changing? Anyone know? Thanks for any input !
mrgee2jz
what you said is all i know. not sure if the ecu is programmed (because of the later year) to a key like bmw's or something? just a thought
jihwaan
I will be using my orginal ecu so that shouldn't present a problem...
mrgee2jz
would the original ecu control the vvti? or was yours already vvti?
jihwaan
Yes, my supra is VVTI- I am guessiing it will be a fairly straightforward swap, but I was just hoping someone could confirm this for me...?

hodge
You need to change the same stuff you would change if it was a non vvti. The power steering pump doesn't need changing iirc. You need to change the following to supra parts:- Water pump Upper sump (you can't just turn it round due to the oil drain). Oil strum or strainer. (again you can't just turn it round as it's a different shape) Engine mount brackets (they stick out further as the aristo engine bay is narrower) The oil drain for the turbos are a slightly different angle but are fine to use. Ecu etc is fine to use. I've got a thread somewhere about swapping an aristo into a supra.
