Lbm
I like this one best. What camera do you have? Thanks. I've just got a pany FZ28, so not a DSLR, but nearly. I think I had my polarising filter on for that shot to encourage colour saturation etc... Some lovely shots there. Glad you still enjoyed the holiday. We did the same in Spain once. When you get over how empty and quiet everywhere is, it's very relaxing. No surprise that Spiros helped you out. Greeks, Spaniards love families. Cheers Andy. You're not wrong about the greeks and family etc. And yes I did enjoy it, even if it was on the quiet side. +1, in the vain hope that my photos can look in the same league as yours by having the same/similar camera. You've got some cracking shots there. Thanks Steve. As I mentioned to Jake it's the FZ28 by Panasonic. It has a 27mm to 486mm lens so pretty handy particularly if you're a novice like me, and when going on holiday where you may not want to lug too much gear around - with the Mrs and baby etc. The new FZ38 is out now - I'll give you the www.ukdigitalcameras.co.uk link to it and a review, and I know the next generation is available at a great price. Both cameras have HD video capabilty too etc. http://www.ukdigitalcameras.co.uk/prod.asp?i=5704&gclid=CKOQ9OjQkp4CFeZr4wod2QNVrA http://www.dpreview.com/news/0907/09072704panafz38.asp Naturally if you wanted to achieve amazing pin sharp images, or hand held lower light shots you would need a DSLR with a few lenses. This will be my next step if I continue to have an interest, but anyway the FZ28 or the newer FZ38 is a great starter. One more thing, no matter what camera you have, be it point & shoot, phone camera, bridge camera (FZ28) or DSLR, nothing but practice and research of a few techniques will invariably help improve the quality of your photography. For instance, I only got mine this February. Before I had a little point & shoot, but I literally never thought about what I was shooting. This is not the camera's fault - it was mine. One more thing, I took along with me my little Joby Gorillapod tripod. That's how I took the moon shot. In the past I'd have done it by hand, but it would have been super crap and blurry. Anyway enough essay anwers for one day I love Kefalonia, hope you had a great time. We did thanks Martin. Was it as I suspected then? A little too quiet? Superb pictures BTW. Cheers col Quiet???? Just a bit Anyway, we had a good time and it was pretty much good weather, mid 70s etc. The sea was a bit nippy though Nice photos Lbm. Thanks Alex

Chris Wilson
Looks stunning, can't be too quiet for me, not that I remember what a holiday is, having not been away for at least 15 years. Thanks for sharing!
Terminator
Beautifully composed photographs, great colour, what Camera? Brings back happy memories, fantastic place, you are right, much better in June. We went out just before the film was released. It went crazy after that, for a few years apparently. I remember one 4 mile long beach Jan I walked along, never saw another soul, until the far end of the beach, there was an expensive looking motor boat moored up. In a sheltered cove at the very end of the beach there was an impressive area of covered decking, one guy sat at a table with a laptop, a bottle of Champagne and one glass. Never found out who it was, it did not seem right to spoil his tranquil spot, by doing the tourist intrusion thing. For some reason Peter Gabrielle's name popped into my head when I saw the guy. What a place for inspiration.

What a place for inspiration. I have a pany FZ28, and I set my white balance to cloudy and the in-camera colour saturation up to the maximum. I also used a circular-polarizing filter for extra saturation etc for some of the shots. Another Greek island fan then?
