1.2 bar restrictor Ring

Just so you know Dream Liver, if you stick a 1.2 RR in, your lowest boost point is the maximum safe limit for stock J-spec turbos. On a cold day, you may boost even higher and you'll have no way of controlling it. Your best option IMO is to get a 1 bar RR then use a boost controller to raise the boost. At least then you have an element of control over the boost.

Agreed. I currently have a 1.0 bar RR fitted and boost to around 1.1 consistently.

 

I was boosting to 1.35 before I had the RR fitted.

well i have a 1.0 RR in now.

 

Why does it boost higher on a cold day? Surely once the engine is up to temperature it wont make a difference will it

 

Colder air is more dense. More dense, means there's more of it per given volume. Which means power fuel = more power (to a degree).
