hodge
Its a traction control fault. loosen off the screws to your sub Throttle position sensor and raise it as high as possible. reset your ECU and try that. Pailing that remove your trac control stepper motor and clean it and the housing on the throttle body refit it, reset the ECU once more and off you go. My moneys on the Sub TPS though. Lee P
Wont be trac control as the ecu has been removed and that normally just puts the trac light on continuously.

Guigsy
just going to rebump this thread is it seemt he only one i can find relating to my problem. got my car back from the garrage and intermitantly the O/D off light will flash. the only light on the dash nothing else. no engine warning or anything like that. Half the time it is fine the other half its not. Havent had much of a chance to investigate due to weather conditions but the car runs and drives fine. havent noticed the traction control not working when the light has been flashing (i always have it on). Any advice what it might be so i can add it to my ever groing list of things that need to be done?
Dave17
Hi mate, mine has been doing this and i've put it down to very low temperatures. There is nothing wrong with my car at all, and this only happens when i cold start in temps around 0 degrees. A few minutes later when the car is warmed up it goes away. Just one of those things. Never ever happens in the Summer, only in the Winter when it gets really cold.
Guigsy
yeah mines only been doing it since it came back from the garrage though. well i came back. drove home then left for florida for a week. so its only been doing it the past 2 weeks But it happens even when the car has already been run and is warm. Abz
Any chance get opened the gearbox cover? The one under the gearshift? Mine did this when I drove without the cover on (was getting to my mates for some extra tools which replacing Dash). Then when I put everything back together it still kept flashing randomly and like you the manual button never worked. I then undid the gearbox cover to have a look and pushed and pulled a few of the wires then I noticed it just stop flashing since. Its been about 6 months since I've done my dash & touch wood it has happened again. I've put it down to a wire which I must have paid loose. I have a LOT of junk down there. uncluding a fag lighter power extention/splitter. I might give it a clear out and check when i have chance to look. will give the the excuse to pull out my dash pannel again and fix the bad spray job
