Chris Wilson
Here's an absolutely Gospel true story my wife came home with tonight. A work colleague has a 12 year old boy with some mental health problems. She and her husband took him to Alton Towers about a week ago. He was a bit wary of the water rides so they left him to watch whilst they went on some sort of watery "Big Dipper". When they finished they couldn't find him where they had told him to wait. After about 20 minutes they were panicking, but all of a sudden he returned, but wet through. He wouldn't speak about where he'd been, but was adamant he had *NOT* been on the ride wiht anyone else, nor had anyone taken him anywhere. The matter was forgotten with the relief of his return and they shortly set off homewards in the car. He was carrying a plastic carrier bag which he'd insisted on bringing a toy in, but seemed very strange in his behaviour, but hey, that was nothing unusual, he gets kind of attached to odd things. When they got home they had a meal, and then he said he would have to go to the bathroom. He was gone for ages, absolutely ages. Dad goes to check out what's going on, and behind the locked bathroom door could hear him talking to himself. He asked if everything was OK, but got silence. Eventually he decides he has to go in and see what's up. He unlocks the door with the safety lock device, and stops in the doorway, totally speechless. The lad has a real live baby penguin in the bath.... When he'd got his wits back about him dad decides he will have to ring Alton Towers. They were REALLY nice about it, sent a refrigerated van out with a speciall transport crate and a vet, and collected the penguin. It turned out that while they were on the water ride he'd climbed into the penguin enclosure, left his inanimate toy and exchanged it for something MUCH more interesting, which he'd brought home un noticed in his carrier bag. Absolutely true. Honest.

Ian R
Nice story but correct me if i'm wrong but Alton Towers doesn't have penguins or at least i've never seen one in the 16 years i've been going there. Looked on the AT website and not featured on it either

Gamer
I think CW has a thing for strange birds. One look at his avatar and you think he must be one sandwich short of a picnic.
JohnA
Maybe they should fit them with Lo-Jack or something, you know, factory-fitted at birth
