Tricky-Ricky
Sorry but in need of some more help with it:( it seems that when she had the shunt the heater has not worked, what i need to know is how to remove the panel with the heater controls, and also how the control operates? The heater switch feels very light so i am assuming its electronically controls a servo? Is this a common fault, and is there an easy fix? nevins
Pull the knobs off the control panel and you should see some phillips screws there mate that hold them in place, dont quote me on that as i aint worked on a KA for about 2 years lol

pistonbroke
Is it not blowing hot air by any chance?
pistonbroke
If so, its nothing to do with the controls. Its a hugely common fault on fiestas, Ka's and pumas (all the same chassis). It's the heater control valve. Its piss easy to replace and takes about 10 minutes. The valve is located on the front of the bulkhead at the top in the center. you'll see two coolant hoses running into it. Undo the hoses from both sides and remove the multiplug. Pull the old unit out and replace, job done........I knew that apprenticeship at ford would pay off Here is the valve http://www.fordpartsuk.com/images/1454023.jpg Even better, heres an over the top 'how to guide with pics' http://www.khantazi.org/Archives/Ford_Ka_Heater_Valve_Repair/ValveRepair.html

Before i was VW man i was a Ford Fanatic spent about £15k on my fiesta and learnt pretty much everything during the build over many yers! KA's and fiestas have the same set ups pretty much and if your not getting hot air its 99.9% the control valve. There aout £50 from ford. Very asy to fit. It sits in the bulkhead and you will see the inlet pipe goin in and one coming out. Drain your anti freeze, then its a 5 minute fit, connect the pipes and jobs a gooden good luck mate and i hoped i helped a bit. Paul
