Guest krakkos
Saw a pretty sorry sight of a silver Supra that had taken out about 100yds of the central reservation barrier, southbound on the M/A23 near Crawley this morning... Was torrential rain around that time, so probably hydroplaned in lane 3 - ended up with the front axle on the barrier, rear axle on lane 3. Hope you were OK, couldn't see a driver, but the front end of your Supra looked a bit... well... missing. Police were in attendance.

imi
i wonder whether these sort of incidents are also common with other RWD cars too, or is the supra just a poorly designed RWD car, or driven by idiots?
j1mb0b1
or is the supra just a poorly designed RWD car We all know the stock T/C system is pants and you spin out before it even thinks about kicking in but because we know that in wet condtions or even icey condtions we should take extra care. or driven by idiots? Not taking extra care in wet or icey condtions
Guest EncoreWRC
is the supra just a poorly designed RWD car, or driven by idiots? Well imo the Supra is one of the best designed and safest Jap RWD cars ever made, best build quality and some great safety features so it must just be idiots driving them.... But I would suggest that most members on here should not be deemed "idiots" ... so maybe they are just the non-members that need driving lessons. imi
So what you are saying is that the supra is less forgiving compared to other similar ages RWD cars (thinking, BMW, Nissan 200, etc)... In which it would be a poorly designed street car for the masses then......wouldnt it?
Guest EncoreWRC
I know for a fact the Supra is more "controlable" under moments of understeer than a BMW or 200sx.. yes. From experience. Much more forgiving than a RWD cosworth or Granada with an open diff.... I would accept that if the usual Street masses took out a car with the power of the Supra, they would probably trash it..... You need to respect the car, especially in poor conditions... Out of RWD cars... the Supra rules as a good all rounder..... I know it has faults, but over all.... a great and very safe car.... gurteen0
I agree I have a 300ZX and a MR2 Turbo and the back ends are as Twichy as anything far worse than the Supra especially the ZX great fun in the Dry unforgiving in the wet :scare: I know for a fact the Supra is more "controlable" under moments of understeer than a BMW or 200sx.. yes. Guest Budz86
Hope whoever was driving was ok. Just goes to show that respect is needed with these. If they are used as a daily driver, don't go anywhere near the speed limit and don't put your foot down! Especially in a TT or single! Jamesy
I must say my supra tt is much more stable in the wet than my r33 skyline. That thing was twitchy as feck!!!!!
